Welcome to DFD Darcy’s Football Development. For me, football isn’t just a sport; it’s a massive part of my life, a true passion that I’ve been dedicated to for as long as I can remember. Growing up right here in Melbourne, Australia, I pretty much had a ball at my feet from day one. I kicked off my junior career at George Cross FC at age six, and that club was home for me until I turned twelve. It was an awesome sporting start that built a solid foundation for everything, well before I ever imagined or planned for DFD Darcy’s Football Development.

Looking for new challenges and ways to push my game further, I then made the move to Avondale FC, where I spent a few really significant years developing my skills. It was a great experience, exposing me to different coaching philosophies and a new level of competition. Always keen to learn and improve, that period at Avondale was crucial for my growth as a player.

When I was around 15, I actually returned to my roots at George Cross FC, but this time it was to join the Reserves Squad. That was a big step up, jumping into a more competitive environment and really testing myself against more senior players. That same year was genuinely unforgettable because I had the incredible honour of representing Victoria in a tournament in Sydney.

Just a few months after that amazing experience, I got picked up by Western United FC, and honestly, it was a dream come true. I spent two seasons there, immersed in a professional football environment. The training intensity, the team dynamic, the constant pursuit of excellence – it all contributed so much to my understanding of the industry. A massive highlight from my time there was winning the Under 23’s league in 2024. That was a fantastic year, a real testament to the hard work we put in as a team, and it’s something I’m incredibly proud of.

I’m currently playing for Preston Lions FC. It’s an exciting new chapter, and I’m really enjoying the challenges and the camaraderie of the squad. But beyond my own playing career, I’m also heavily involved in shaping the future of football by coaching the Under 7’s team at Preston. Working with those young kids is brilliant; their energy and enthusiasm is infectious. This was really the time that DFD Darcy’s Football Development grew as not just an idea but a way to work in an industry that I can’t get enough of. I love being able to share my experience, teach them the ropes, and watch them develop their skills and passion for the game. It’s super rewarding to help them build their own football dreams, just like I did. I’m always looking to make the game fun and help them grow, whether they’re future pros or just loving being on the pitch.
